Lewen and Grandson Damon Kardon to hold collaborative art exhibit at Montgomery County Community College starting September 1, 2010

A collaborative grandfather-grandson exhibition, featuring selective works of artists Si Lewen and Damon Kardon, opens on Sept. 1 at Montgomery County Community College’s Fine Arts Center at the Central Campus in Blue Bell. The exhibit, “The Two-Generation Show: Si Lewen and his Grandson Damon Kardon,” includes paintings and multi-media/photograph assemblages. Si Lewen, 91, is showing his new work,  “Homage to Rodin: The Gates of Hell,” as well as other selected works. Damon Kardon, 33, considers Lewen his mentor and a major influence in the making of his imaginative abstract art. Artwork from Kardon's “States” and “Tomb” series is on view (see www.damonkardon.wordpress.com). A special “meet the artists” reception takes place on Wed., Sept. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. during which the artists will hold a gallery talk about their artwork and lives as artists. The exhibit continues through Oct. 13. The Montgomery County Community College Fine Arts Center is located at 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, Pa.
